Terms of use
Use MinkLauncher thoughtfully.
These Terms of Use apply to the official MinkLauncher and MinkLauncher OpenSource Android applications, the MinkLauncher website, and official project resources published by Katoa Apps. By installing, accessing, or using them, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use MinkLauncher.
What MinkLauncher does
MinkLauncher is an Android home-screen launcher and local productivity tool. Depending on the features you enable, it can open apps and web pages, search approved local files, display Android widgets, organize active conversation notifications, prepare or send communications, place confirmed calls, create local to-dos, perform Android's lock-screen action, and summarize usage activity for apps you choose.
MinkLauncher is not a backup service, cloud-storage provider, messaging carrier, emergency service, security product, parental-control product, or guaranteed data-recovery tool.
Your device, data, and backups
You are responsible for maintaining current backups of files, contacts, messages, calendars, to-dos, launcher settings, widget data, and other information that matters to you. Search indexes, thumbnails, shortcuts, widget placements, notification views, and selected-folder references are conveniences only; they are not copies or backups of the underlying data.
Android, device manufacturers, storage providers, widget providers, messaging apps, app updates, permission changes, account synchronization, clearing app storage, uninstalling the app, or moving, renaming, or deleting files may change or remove data and may break shortcuts, widgets, searches, or saved configuration. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Katoa Apps is not responsible for loss, corruption, deletion, disclosure, or inability to recover device data or app configuration resulting from your use of, inability to use, or changes to MinkLauncher or third-party software.
Calls, messages, and other actions
Review the selected contact, destination, message, phone number, file, application, and action before confirming. Carrier, messaging, calling, data, subscription, or roaming charges may apply. Delivery, identity, recipient selection, RCS or SMS behavior, call routing, and inline replies are controlled in whole or in part by Android, your carrier, and the receiving application or service.
MinkLauncher must not be relied on for emergency communications. Use your device's normal emergency calling features and follow local emergency-service instructions.
Third-party apps and services
MinkLauncher can hand information or actions to installed apps, websites, Android system components, carriers, widget providers, notification providers, browsers, AI apps, and other services you select. Katoa Apps does not control and is not responsible for their availability, content, security, privacy practices, charges, data handling, output, or actions. Their own terms and privacy policies apply after a handoff.
Permissions and responsible use
Optional features require permissions, special access, or Android roles. Grant only the access you understand and want to use. You may revoke access through MinkLauncher or Android Settings, although doing so may disable related features. You agree not to use MinkLauncher unlawfully, to access information you are not authorized to access, to impersonate another person, or to send unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or unwanted communications.
Availability and changes
Features may differ by Android version, device, manufacturer, installed apps, carrier, locale, permission state, and distribution channel. Katoa Apps may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features and may update these terms. Material changes will be identified by a new effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
Open-source edition
Source code identified as MinkLauncher OpenSource is licensed under the Apache License 2.0. These Terms do not reduce rights granted by that license. If these Terms conflict with the Apache License regarding use, reproduction, modification, or distribution of licensed source code, the Apache License controls for that source code. These Terms continue to govern use of the official applications, website, services, and Katoa Apps or MinkLauncher names, logos, and other branding.
No warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MinkLauncher and the official project resources are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, security, compatibility, or that data loss will not occur. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Katoa Apps and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost communications, lost profits, loss of goodwill, device malfunction, service interruption, carrier charges, or the cost of substitute products or services, arising from or related to MinkLauncher, even if advised that such harm was possible.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Governing law and general terms
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except where your local consumer law requires otherwise. If a provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will remain effective. These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the agreement concerning the official app and project resources, except for rights separately granted under an open-source license.
